Since childhood, I felt like something was missing and had a strong desire to live in the USA or another Western country. I believed my life would be better there. And so I actually went there. I lived in the USA for over five years, but I didn’t find what I was looking for. I also tried living in Spain, Luxembourg, and Mexico, but I wasn’t happier there either. I spent a total of twelve years abroad, and based on this experience, I gradually realized two things.
Firstly, I began to realize that the reason for my dissatisfaction wasn’t the place I was in or the people around me, but something I couldn’t figure out. Something I was doing myself. Secondly, I started to feel that I missed the Czech Republic because I am Czech through and through. I love fairy tales, happy endings, I’m used to reading between the lines, solving obstacles on my own, and I love the whole Czech atmosphere.
